Spotted some books by Michael Kurland (infernal device, death by gaslight) with Prof. Moriarty as the central figure at the Mechanics Institute Library.
has anyone read these?
Verdict?

No, I haven't. I will put them on my list, though.

On the same topic, did anyone see "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"?

I liked it actually. Although it wasn't a very accurate translation, very few mvies are. One thing i realized though, most people didn't like it because they didn't *know* the characters (they didn't read the literature behind them)- for example, a lot of the people I saw the movie with were wondering why the "bad guy was like that" (if you read Holmes, you'd know) or why "Captain Nemo worships death" (if you've read 40 leagues, you'd also know)

I would've liked it better if Holmes was on the film though. After all, Moriarty IS *his* arch-enemy!
