I am thinking houndstooth (and tweed) are the fashion staples for the new punk.

Anyone have a good resource for thick, houndstooth fabric? I am wary of buying from London or Scotland, and I'm sure there are some great fabric shops in SF, LA or NYC that could do the trick but I'm loathe to buy fabric w/o holding it in my hands.

I want to commission a houndstooth manskirt (utili-kilt), so if you're in SF and can sew, you might have a small gig if you feel like a collaboration.
